Yellow alert declared in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod

The Central Weather Department has declared Yellow alert for the districts of Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasargod on June 13. It has forecast that heavy rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours will lash in isolated areas.

On June 14, the districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod will be affected and on June 15, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasargod will receive heavy rainfall.

The yellow alert is meant to alert the public and concerned officials to the situation. Those who live in areas prone to floods, landslides and riverbanks should take special precautions in case of strong winds and rain.  Coastal residents have been asked to exercise caution. One should also take note of the dangers that may occur when the wind blows down the trees and posts.
