Dubai : The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has issued a traffic alert for motorists traveling between Dubai and Sharjah, announcing partial road closures on key highways due to scheduled maintenance works.
As part of the upgrade project, three out of seven lanes on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, in the direction from Sharjah to Dubai, will be closed. Additionally, one of the three lanes on the adjoining service road will also remain shut. These closures will be in effect from 12:00am to 10:00am on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Simultaneously, on Al Ittihad Street, three out of five lanes heading from Dubai to Sharjah will also be closed during the same time frame — from midnight to 10:00am on June 1.
The RTA has urged drivers to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes, and allow for extra travel time to avoid congestion. The authority also reminded motorists to stay updated through official RTA channels for real-time traffic advisories.
