MUSCAT : The initiative aims to improve connectivity between residential and commercial areas and ease movement between villages, fostering urban growth and economic development.
Eng. Nasser bin Ahmed Al Hinai, Director General of North Al Batinah Municipality, outlined the extensive scope of the project, which includes internal roads across all wilayats of the governorate.
In Sohar, 60 kilometers of road projects are underway, including 27 kilometers of internal roads, the paving of mountain roads linking Al Arad to the expressway, and 18 kilometers of roads in compensation areas. Roads in Falaj Al Souq are also being designed and paved to connect mountainous and residential zones.
In Saham, 62 kilometers of internal roadwork is progressing, focusing on urban expansion areas and compensation plans. Similarly, Al Khabourah sees 60 kilometers of projects, including mountain roads in Al Dhawihir and Hail Al Rakah, alongside internal road paving.
Al Suwaiq will benefit from 60 kilometers of new roads, while Liwa and Shinas have a combined 16.8 kilometers of internal road networks under development, enhancing infrastructure to support urban and economic activity.
Al Hinai emphasized the municipality’s commitment to adhering to the highest quality standards and project timelines, highlighting the critical role of these initiatives in creating an integrated infrastructure that supports social and economic growth for citizens and residents in the governorate.
