Nabbed at Singhu border, masked man reveals plot to kill farm leaders

A masked man, who was caught at the Singhu border protest’s site at India’s national capital Delhi, by farmers alleging he was there to shoot farmer leaders, has now taken a U-turn and said he was reading a script prepared by the farmers while addressing the media on Friday night.

In a new video that has surfaced following his arrest by the police on Friday, the man who earlier appeared before the media wearing a mask, has said in a viral video that he was reading a script given to him by the farmers. This video hasn’t been validated by police, who say they will give more information later on Saturday afternoon.

Farmers at the Singhu border protest site addressed the media late on Friday night and presented the masked man who they alleged was plotting a sinister attack on four farm leaders during the Republic Day tractor rally. The man also spoke to the media and allegedly confessed that he was sent by police officials to disrupt the tractor rally.

Yogesh has claimed he was beaten up and threatened by protesters. In the video, Yogesh has said the farmers apprehended three others along with him and told him that one of them has been beaten to death. After this, Yogesh allegedly told the farmers to hand him over to the police.

However, the farmers continued to threaten to kill him. He alleged that he was later forced to appear before the media and narrate the statement he was asked to give.

In the video that has surfaced now, Yogesh has said he cooked up the story about plotting an attack on the farmers to save his life. He further alleged that the farmers are still holding a boy from UP in captivity.

Meanwhile, the mother of the accused has said her son Yogesh had left the house on January 20 saying he is going for work. She said Yogesh had promised to return home soon, but instead they received a call from the police.

Following the press conference by the farmers, the police took Yogesh in custody and questioned him for hours late on Friday night.
