Kerala reports 3,502 cases of COVID-19 on April 6

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 3,502 people in Kerala on April 6. The worst affected districts are Ernakulam 487, Kannur 410, Kozhikode 402, Kottayam 354, Thrissur 282, Malappuram 261, Thiruvananthapuram 210, Pathanamthitta 182, Kollam 173, Palakkad 172, Alappuzha 165, Idukki 158, Kasaragod 128 and Wayanad 118.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. Kovid 19 has so far been confirmed by 111 people from the UK (103), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 104 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

During the last 24 hours, 59,051 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 5.93. A total of 1,34,54,186 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

Today, it has been confirmed that 14 deaths in the last few days are due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,694.

Today, 148 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 3,110 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 230 is not clear. The affected areas are Ernakulam 455, Kannur 341, Kozhikode 387, Kottayam 320, Thrissur 273, Malappuram 251, Thiruvananthapuram 160, Pathanamthitta 154, Kollam 167, Palakkad 70, Alappuzha 164, Idukki 148, Kasaragod 112 and Wayanad 108.

Fourteen health workers were infected. Ernakulam 5, Kozhikode 2, Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Palakkad, Kannur and Kasaragod 1 each were affected by the disease.

The test results of 1898 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 211, Kollam 129, Pathanamthitta 108, Alappuzha 117, Kottayam 125, Idukki 41, Ernakulam 191, Thrissur 186, Palakkad 62, Malappuram 190, Kozhikode 274, Wayanad 53, Kannur 103 and Kasaragod 108 were negative today. With this, 29,962 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,06,123 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.

There are currently 1,49,368 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,44,643 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,725 are under hospital surveillance. About 650 people were admitted to hospitals today.

Today there are four new hotspots and two areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 362 hotspots.
