Kerala reports 10,031 fresh COVID-19 cases on April 16

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 10,031 people in Kerala today. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Kozhikode 1560, Ernakulam 1391, Malappuram 882, Kottayam 780, Thiruvananthapuram 750, Alappuzha 745, Thrissur 737, Kannur 673, Kasaragod 643, Palakkad 514, Kollam 454, Wayanad 348, Idukki 293 and Pathanamthitta 261 districts were affected today.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 113 people from the UK (105), South Africa (7) and Brazil (1). Of these, 109 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

During the last 24 hours, 67,775 samples were tested. The test positivity rate is 14.8. Routine Sample, Sentinel Sample, CB Nat, Trunat, POCT PCR, RT A total of 1,40,81,632 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.

 

It has been confirmed today that 21 deaths in the last few days were due to Kovid-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,877.

 

Today, 221 of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the state. 9137 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 641 is not clear. Kozhikode 1523, Ernakulam 1335, Malappuram 849, Kottayam 729, Thiruvananthapuram 556, Alappuzha 730, Thrissur 715, Kannur 576, Kasaragod 596, Palakkad 226, Kollam 448, Wayanad 334, Idukki 277 and Pathanamthitta 243 were affected by the disease.

Thirty-two health workers were affected. Health workers in Kannur 11, Kasaragod 5, Thrissur 4, Thiruvananthapuram 3, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Wayanad 2 each and Palakkad 1 were affected.

 

The test results of 3,792 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 648, Kollam 80, Pathanamthitta 156, Alappuzha 41, Kottayam 269, Idukki 123, Ernakulam 515, Thrissur 245, Palakkad 62, Malappuram 278, Kozhikode 464, Wayanad 79, Kannur 298 and Kasaragod 534 were found to be negative today. With this, 69,868 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 11,32,267 people have so far been freed from COVID.

There are currently 2,04,933 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,95,096 are under home / institutional quarantine and 9,837 are under observation in hospitals. A total of 1611 people were admitted to the hospital today.

 

Today there are 12 new hotspots and an area has been excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 436 hotspots.
