Karan Johar resigns from MAMI Board amid nepotism debate

Ever since the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, Karan Johar is widely criticized in social media  for promoting nepotism. Now as per the latest reports, Karan Johar has resigned from the post of Director of Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI) following the backlash which hurt him so much. He mailed his resignation letter to the director Smriti Kiran.
The report states, Deepika Padukone who is the chairperson for the MAMI film festival tried to convince him to rethink his decision. However, her attempts went in vain as Karan was very firm on his part.  It is being reported that Karan Johar is upset with Bollywood celebrities as he did not receive any support from their side when he was being trolled on social media amid the ongoing nepotism debate. He even unfollowed couple of celebrities on Twitter and have also closed his comment section on Instagram.
The other board members consists of Vikramaditya Motwane, Siddharth Roy Kapur, Zoya Akhtar, and Kabir Khan.
