COVID-19 detected in 1,054 people in Kerala on March 16

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 1,054 people in Kerala on March 15. The district-wise break-up of the infected are Thiruvananthapuram 130, Malappuram 124, Ernakulam 119, Kozhikode 117, Kollam 116, Kannur 74, Alappuzha 70, Thrissur 70, Kottayam 68, Palakkad 50, Pathanamthitta 42, Kasaragod 29, Idukki 25 and Wayanad 20.

No one from the UK, South Africa or Brazil has confirmed COVID-19in the past 24 hours. COVID-19 has so far been confirmed by 103 people from the UK (99), South Africa (3) and Brazil (1). Of these, 89 tested negative. A total of 11 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.

A total of 38,410 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 2.74. A total of 1,23,29,604 samples have so far been sent for testing, including LAMP and antigen testing.
It has been confirmed today that 11 deaths in the last few days were due to COVID-19. This brings the total death toll to 4,407.

Thrity-three of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 903 people were infected through contact. Contact sources for 113 are not clear. Thiruvananthapuram 78, Malappuram 120, Ernakulam 112, Kozhikode 112, Kollam 113, Kannur 49, Alappuzha 68, Thrissur 66, Kottayam 59, Palakkad 24, Pathanamthitta 36, Kasaragod 24, Idukki 22 and Wayanad 20 were affected by the disease.

Five health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Kannur 3 and Thrissur 2 were affected.
The test results of 3,463 patients who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 121, Kollam 667, Pathanamthitta 182, Alappuzha 272, Kottayam 334, Idukki 45, Ernakulam 632, Thrissur 225, Palakkad 83, Malappuram 171, Kozhikode 334, Wayanad 118, Kannur 167 and Kasaragod 112 were found to be negative today. With this, 27,057 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. 10,60,560 people have so far been freed from COVID-19.
There are currently 1,43,461 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 1,39,309 are under home / institutional quarantine and 4,152 are under hospital surveillance. A total of 449 people were admitted to hospitals.

There is a new hot spot and no area is excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 352 hotspots.
