794 test positive for COVID-19 in Kerala on July 20

Seven hundred and ninety-four people tested positive for COVID-19 in Kerala on July 20. Of this 519 people contracted the infection through close contact and the source of infection for 24 people is not known. While there are 20 new hotspots in the State, 245 patients were cured of the infection. In Thiruvananthapuram 172 of the 182 people whose tested turned positive got the infection through contact. One person died due to the complications arising from the infection.

Fifteen health workers are among those infected. Of the total infected people 148 people arrived from abroad and 105 from other States. There are now 7,611 people under going treatment in various hospitals.

The district-wise number of infected on the day are as follows: 182 in Thiruvananthapuram district, 92 Kozhikode district, 79 in Kollam district, 72 in Ernakulam district, 53 in Alappuzha district, 50 in Malappuram district, 49 in Palakkad district, 48 in Kannur district, 46 in Kottayam district, 42 in Thrissur district, 28 in Kasargod districts, 26 in Wayanad district, 24 in Idukki district and three in Pathanamthitta district.
