5,214 confirmed with COVID-19 on February 9

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 5,214 in Kerala on February 9. The district-wise break-up of the number of infected are Ernakulam 615, Kollam 586, Kottayam 555, Thrissur 498, Pathanamthitta 496, Kozhikode 477, Thiruvananthapuram 455, Malappuram 449, Alappuzha 338, Kannur 273, Palakkad 186, Kasaragod 112, Idukki 100 and Wayanad 74.
No one from the UK has confirmed Kovid-19 in the last 24 hours. Kovid-19 has so far been confirmed by 81 people from the UK recently. Of these, 69 tested negative. A total of 10 people were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus.
A total of 69,844 samples were tested during the last 24 hours. The test positivity rate is 7.47. A total of 1,02,14,097 samples have been sent for testing so far, including LAMP and antigen testing.
The 19 deaths in the past few days were confirmed as from COVID. This brings the total death toll to 3,902. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.
Sixty-one of those diagnosed with the disease are from outside the State and 4,788 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 336 is not clear. Ernakulam 580, Kollam 580, Kottayam 512, Thrissur 485, Pathanamthitta 451, Kozhikode 460, Thiruvananthapuram 366, Malappuram 428, Alappuzha 334, Kannur 233, Palakkad 92, Kasaragod 100, Idukki 95 and Wayanad 72 were affected by the disease.
Twenty-nine health workers were affected by the disease. Health workers from Ernakulam 6, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur 4, Pathanamthitta 3, two each in Kollam, Kannur and one each in Idukki, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kasaragod.
The test results of 6475 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. Thiruvananthapuram 422, Kollam 317, Pathanamthitta 423, Alappuzha 279, Kottayam 1,194, Idukki 388, Ernakulam 605, Thrissur 506, Palakkad 201, Malappuram 645, Kozhikode 797, Wayanad 266, Kannur 263 and Kasaragod 169 tested negative. With this, 64,131 people have been diagnosed with the disease and are still undergoing treatment. A total of 9,09,102 have so far been cured.
There are currently 2,33,664 people under surveillance in various districts of the state. Of these, 2,23,434 are under home / institutional quarantine and 10,230 in hospitals. A total of 1179 people were admitted to the hospital today.
There are 10 new hotspots and three areas were excluded from the hotspot list. There are currently a total of 459 hotspots.
