4 districts in Tamil Nadu face complete lockdown

Keeping in view the growing number of COVID-19 cases, Tamil Nadu government has decided to implement complete lockdown in the State till June 30. The lockdown was announced in Chennai, Kanchepuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpet districts of Tamil Nadu. During the lockdown, people have access to essential services only.

On June 14, the State saw over 1,900 more novel coronavirus cases in a single day for the third day in a row. With over 1,974 patients reporting positive for the virus in last 24 hours, Tamil Nadu’s COVID-19 count has reached 44,661, according to the State’s health department. The death toll increased to 435 after 38 fatalities were recorded since June 13.
