Ajman: The General Command of Ajman Police has called on drivers to avoid random parking in front of mosques during night prayers (Qiyam). This measure aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion that could obstruct vehicle movement and affect the safety of worshippers and pedestrians.
Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Humaid bin Hindi, Deputy Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Ajman Police, stated that traffic police patrols have intensified their presence near mosques to regulate traffic and monitor violating vehicles. He emphasised the importance of adhering to traffic laws and avoiding obstruction of public roads and residential areas.
Lieutenant Colonel bin Hindi further explained that random parking could block emergency and ambulance routes, leading to accidents and pedestrian hazards, thus endangering lives. He urged worshippers to cooperate and follow traffic officers’ instructions to ensure a safe and comfortable prayer experience for everyone.
Lieutenant Colonel bin Hindi pointed out that Ajman Police will take necessary action against violators according to the applicable traffic laws. A fine of Dh500 will be imposed for the following violations:
Parking behind vehicles in a way that obstructs their movement.
Parking at intersections and road bends.
Incorrect parking.
Additionally, a fine of Dh400 will be imposed for:
Parking in a manner that endangers pedestrians.
Parking on sidewalks.
Parking in a way that obstructs pedestrian movement.
He also warned against parking in spaces designated for people of determination, which carries a fine of Dh1,000 and six black traffic points.
