Sharjah ∙ In a major move to strengthen regional air connectivity, Air Arabia has officially resumed its direct flights between Sharjah and Damascus. The low-cost carrier will now operate twice-daily non-stop services, providing greater flexibility and convenience for both business and leisure travellers between the UAE and Syria.
A special ceremonial send-off marked the inaugural flight from Sharjah International Airport, attended by Ali Salim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Airport Authority; Adel Al Ali, CEO of Air Arabia Group; and Ziad Yahya Zaher Edin, Chargé d’Affaires at the Syrian Consulate General in the UAE.
Upon landing at Damascus International Airport, the flight was welcomed with a reception ceremony in the presence of UAE Ambassador to Syria, H.E. Hasan Ahmed Mohammed Sulaiman Alshehhi, and other Syrian officials.
Enhancing Regional Connectivity
The resumption of the Sharjah–Damascus route forms part of Air Arabia’s broader strategy to expand its network and meet growing demand for affordable, efficient travel solutions across the region. The airline stated that the service reflects its commitment to improving regional accessibility while maintaining value-oriented services.
