7,025 confirmed with COVID-19 in Kerala on Nov.1; 8,511 people cured

COVID-19 has been confirmed for 7,025 people in Kerala on November 1. The death of 28 people has been confirmed as due to the infection.

The district-wise break-up of the infected are are Ernakulam 1,042, Thrissur 943, Kozhikode 888, Kollam 711, Alappuzha 616, Thiruvananthapuram 591, Malappuram 522, Palakkad 435, Kottayam 434, Kannur 306, Pathanamthitta 160, Idukki 148, Kasaragod 143 and Wayanad 86.

The people who died due to COVID-19 were Nirmala (62) from Poovar, Subhadra (84) from Chirayinkeezhu, Girish Babu (71) from Parish, Antony (55) from Pallippuram, Shoukath Ali (76) from Karyavattom, Mohammad Basheer (72) from Polayathodu, Kollam, Yesudasan (74) from Chavara., Bhaskaran Pillai (83) from Paravur, Raveendran (63) from Kollam, Jeravas (65) from Kollam, Kunju Muhammad (71) from Aroor, Alappuzha, Gopinathan (74) from Sanathanapuram, Raveendran (67) from Edakkad, A.N. Narayana Pai (88) from Puram, Antony (75) from Kondanad, Ernakulam, Sankaran (73) from Cherp, Thrissur, Shanavas (27) from Valapad, Govindan (76) from Sreekrishnapuram, Palakkad, Abdul Samad (37) from Malika Parambu, Malappuram, Mohammad (70) from Nilambur, Moidu Haji (71) from Valayam, Kozhikode, Karthayani (74) from Vadakara, Rasak (62) from Nallalam, Premalatha (72) from Punnadu, Kannur, Aboobacker (56) from Kannur, Vanaja (55) from Pappinisseri, Maatu, 75, of Kariyat and Khadeeja, 71, of Chowwa. This brought the total death toll to 1512. Further deaths will be confirmed after NIV testing in Alappuzha.

Eighty-five of those diagnosed with the disease were from outside the State, while 6,163 people were infected through contact. Contact source for 712 was not clear.

Sixty-five health workers were affected by the disease on the first day of the month. The test results of 8,511 people who were diagnosed and treated were negative. There were currently 2,93,622 people under surveillance in various districts of the State. Of these, 2,71,499 are under home / institutional quarantine and 22,123 in hospitals. A total of 2,667 people were admitted to hospitals.

A total of 50,010 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. A total of 46,95,059 samples have so far been sent for testing, including routine samples, Airport Surveillance, Pooled Sentinel, CBNAT, Trunat, CLIA and Antigen Assay.

Seven new hotspots have been declared while 22 areas have been excluded from the list. With this, there were a total of 671 hotspots.
