1,129 test postive for COVID-19 in Kerala on Aug.1

On August 1, 1,129 people were confirmed with COVID-19. Of this 259 were from Thiruvananthapuram district, 153 from Kasaragod district, 141 from Malappuram district, 95 from Kozhikode district, 85 from Pathanamthitta district, 76 from Thrissur district, 67 from Alappuzha district 59 in Ernakulam district, 47 each in Kottayan and Palakkad districts, 46 from Wayanad district, 35 from Kollam district, 14 from Idukki district and five from Kannur district.

The results of two people who died in Thiruvananthapuram and Thrissur are included in the total number of infected.

Koyamu, 82, of Kondotty, Malappuram, Ashraf, 52, of Aluva in Ernakulan district, Angel, 81, of Ernakulam, Abdul Rahman, 72, of Trikkaripur, Kasargod, Babu, 62, of Nedumagad, Thiruvananthapuram district, Noushad, 49, of Kozhikode Beach, Asuma Beevi, 73, in Kollam district and Chandran, 53, of Irinjalakuda, Thrissur who died were confirmed with COVID-19. This takes the total number of deaths to 81.
Of those confirmed with the infection, 89 arrived from foreign countries and 114 from other States of India. A total of 880 people got the infection through contact. Out of this the source of infection of 58 people are not known.
Twenty-four health workers, 11 KSE staff in Thrissur, five KLF staff, and four INHS staff also contracted the infection. The results of 752 people who were under treatment turned negative.
