New York : The US Department of Homeland Security has announced that Indian citizens who were staying illegally in the United States have been deported. A special plane was chartered for this purpose. The Department of Homeland Security also stated that the action was taken in collaboration with the Indian government.
On October 22, Indian citizens who were not legally eligible to stay in the US were deported. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said it will continue to strictly enforce US immigration laws and face severe consequences for those who enter illegally.
In fiscal year 2024, the Department of Homeland Security has deported more than 60,000 individuals from the country. Reports indicate that the department regularly engages with foreign governments around the world to take action to repatriate nationals of the country who do not have the legal right to remain in the US. In the past year, the US has also deported individuals from several countries around the world, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Egypt, Senegal, Uzbekistan, China, and India.
