COVID-19 situation in Kerala’s capital worsens

The district administration in Kerala’s capital is worried as the number of people who have been infected through contact is increasing day by day. The authorities are likely to step up controls as spreading of COVID-19 through contact is increasing even in the rural areas of the district.
A majority of the COVID-19 cases confirmed in the capital is through contact. In Arayanad, which is a rural area, six including five health workers were confirmed with the infection and the Directorate of Health and the district administration are closely watching the situation. All these people have been in constant contact with many others.
Even in the coastal areas the situation has turned very complicated. On July 7, 28 people were confirmed with the virus through contact in Poonthura, an area where the situation is very dangerous. Vallakkadavu is another area in the capital where COVID-19 is spreading fast. Eight people were confirmed with the infection. Most of them have interacted with other people in the area. There are plans for tests, including Antigen test, in the area. More controls will be brought in areas where the situation is complicated.
