The coronavirus outbreak has literally shattered all courses of human lives, and the recent surge in positive cases indicate that the pandemic is very much out of control. As panic looms up, a World Health Organisation (WHO) official has revealed that the COVID-19 pandemic is one big wave, and made it clear that coronavirus infection is not seasonal.

Analysing the recent drastic surge in coronavirus cases in Hong Kong, WHO officials claimed that the virus is behaving in ways beyond human control. However, they made it clear that human interference can slow down the spread of the pandemic.

“We are in the first wave. It’s going to be one big wave. It’s going to go up and down a bit. The best thing is to flatten it and turn it into just something lapping at your feet. People are still thinking about seasons. What we all need to get our heads around is this is a new virus and… this one is behaving differently,” said Margaret Harris, a WHO official, reports said.

Harris also warned that the upcoming winter season will be very challenging, as there will be a surge in Flu cases too. The WHO official also asked people with respiratory illnesses to stay vigilante during the winter season.

The comments from Harris come just a few days after Anthony Fauci, one of the former lead members of the Trump Administration’s White House Coronavirus Task Force called the coronavirus outbreak a perfect storm. Fauci had also made it clear that it is practically impossible to completely eradicate the pandemic.
