Dubai – Dubai-based airline flydubai has announced plans to resume daytime operations to Jordan and Lebanon starting Tuesday, June 17, as it continues to monitor the volatile security situation in the region amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.
In a statement shared with Gulf News, a flydubai spokesperson said:
“We are closely monitoring the situation in Jordan and Lebanon, and flights to these destinations will resume as daytime operations from June 17.”
However, flights to Iran, Iraq, Israel, and Syria will remain suspended until June 20, while services to Minsk and St. Petersburg are suspended until June 17.
The airline confirmed that its flight schedule remains significantly disrupted due to congestion in air corridors and evolving geopolitical tensions. Travelers are advised to regularly check flight statuses, as ongoing cancellations, rerouting, and delays are expected to continue.
“Our flight schedule continues to be impacted by the ongoing situation in the region, resulting in flight cancellations, rerouting, and delays,” the spokesperson added.
Weekend of Disruptions Across the Region
The update follows a weekend of heightened geopolitical activity across the Middle East, with multiple airspace closures and reports of increased military movement. These developments have led many regional carriers, including Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, and Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, to adjust operations in the interest of safety.
Flydubai reiterated its commitment to safety and noted that it had reinstated flights where operational conditions allow:
“We continue to monitor and review our operations as the situation evolves. We apologise for the inconvenience caused to our passengers and appreciate their understanding. The safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority.”
