Malayalam News Live: 8th day in the disaster land; The search is in progress; The death toll is 392

Today marks eight days since landslides occurred in Churalmala and Mundakai. As the death toll rises day by day in the worst disaster Kerala has ever seen, the entire country is reeling. Even after a week, the search is still going on.
2 body parts were found in the search conducted yesterday in Chaliyar river. With this, the total number of dead bodies recovered from Malappuram district has reached 76. The unofficial estimate is that 392 people died in the disaster. The official death toll is 227.
Finance Minister K Rajan said that the rehabilitation process of the landslide victims in Wayanad is progressing rapidly. Those staying in the relief camps will be shifted from here soon. Counting of vacant government buildings in Meppadi area P.W.D. The number of vacant houses in the region, including resorts, has also been recorded.Those staying in the camp will be shifted to these places soon. A meeting of district education department heads will be held soon regarding the opening of schools. 
The rules are designed in such a way that not a single school day is missed.The Minister said that the matter of opening the schools where the camps are functioning is under consideration and a decision will be taken in the near future regarding the further education of the children in the affected schools including Churalmali and Vellarmali.
