Swamiye Sharanam Ayyappa is the war cry of Indian Army’s Brahmos regiment

The National Executive Committee meeting of Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam held on January 24 online, has congratulated the brave soldiers of 861 Brahmos Missile Regiment for selecting the great manthra ‘Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa’ as their war cry and the Indian Military, Defense Ministry and the Central Government for supporting this noble decision- reported Sri. Erode N. Rajan, National General Secretary.

Shri. Rajan explained that a Resolution was passed in the meeting congratulating the Indian military, especially the 861 Brahmos Missile Regiment and for writing letters to the concerned departments informing the gratitude of the Organisation and crores of Ayyappa devotees world wide in this great decision.

This 'Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa’ Maha manthram chanted by crores of Ayyappa devotees world wide is considered to be one of the most chanted manthras in the world. Further, this manthra is considered as the simplest of manthras, raising a common man to the highest level of God.

Recently, the 861 Missile Regiment and its Brahmos missile systems had participated in the 73rd Indian Army Day, that was observed on January 15, where the sacred chants to Lord Ayyappa were first heard. The jubilant Ayyappa Devotees world wide responded to the decision quickly and very actively by publicising the news through all social, print and electronic media.

The sacred chants of ‘Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa’ will reverberate on Raj Path in New Delhi on the occasion of Republic Day parade. The 861 Brahmos regiment, one of India’s most lethal forces, will take part in the celebrations in the national capital, which is gearing up to chant the enthralling prayers to Lord Ayyappa. All devotees are eagerly awaiting this auspicious moment, jubilantly dancing to the tune of the song – Ayyappa Thinthakathom, Swami Thinthakathom’.

The Brahmos regiment’s war cry is seen as a befitting tribute to Lord Ayyappa as the deity is symbolised to have defeated the evil forces by riding atop a horse holding a bow and arrow and returned riding on a wild tiger. It is an occasion for the world to know more about the history of a brave warrior, the God of Kaliyuga, and Ayyappa Dharma.

Morever, Mr.Rajan informed that Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam has given a call to all Ayyappa devotees to perform special poojas and chant prayers for victory of the Indian Military and all round wellness of the country.
