People spoiling chances in Bollywood, says A.R. Rehman

World renowned music director and Oscar winner A. R. Rahman has alleged that his opportunities were being scuttled by some people. He revealed this in an interview with an FM Radio.

He said that he was shocked by details of such discrimination revealed to him by Mukesh Chabra who directed Sushant Singh starer Dil Bechar when Chabra approached him. Many had advised Chabra against approaching Rahman for working for the movie. It was then he realised why opportunities were not coming his way.

“I am not against good cinemas. Because of some misunderstanding some rumours have been spreading in the industry. It was because of these rumours that I have worked in very few cinema,” Rahman said.

Rahman, who came to the limelight with the 1992 hit film Roja, is a music director with Midas’ touch. Rangalee was the first independent film that Rahman did.
