Doha : The ceremony honoring the winners of the 8th edition of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award was held in San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica. The Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attended the awarding ceremony directly.
This award is given in collaboration with the UN. Lifetime Award for Excellence in Anti-Corruption Work Muna Bukah received. The Academic Research and Education in Anti-Corruption Award was jointly awarded to Professor Robert Klitgaard and Professor Alberto Vannucci. Dr. Rodrigo Arias Grillo and Professor Elias Banrekas received the award for
protecting sports from corruption.
