As schools in Abu Dhabi have reopened to students on February 14, the authorities have issued new Covid safety guidelines. Among the new guidelines are periodic PCR Covid testing for students aged 12 and above.
The students should present negative PCR test results before returning to schools and take the tests “periodically”. It is free for students who take the test as scheduled for their school.

Teachers and school staff must also take the Covid test every two weeks.
Masks are mandatory for students in grade 1/Year 2 and above.
These came as the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) updated its school reopening policies and announced an extensive compliance programme.
It will conduct 220 inspection visits during the first week of the schools reopening.
This will ensure schools’ compliance with the announced precautionary measures aimed at limiting the spread of Covid-19 within the school community.
