Muscat : This initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance Oman’s global presence as a premier tourism destination and stimulate the tourism sector’s growth.
The 2025 programme aims to strengthen the Sultanate of Oman’s position on the international tourism map through a comprehensive range of promotional activities targeting key global markets. This includes establishing new tourism representative offices in strategic locations such as China, Russia, Spain, Latin America, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. These offices will play a crucial role in expanding Oman’s reach and fostering increased engagement with tourists from these vital regions.
As part of the programme, the Ministry will sign contracts with over 80 international tourism companies to implement joint promotional campaigns. These campaigns will focus on key markets such as China, India, the Gulf States, Italy, France, Germany, Russia, the Netherlands, Britain, Ireland, Spain, Switzerland, the Nordic countries, and Belgium. The primary goal of these initiatives will be to increase hotel occupancy rates and drive direct economic benefits for the tourism sector.
The programme will also include a variety of advertising campaigns across public transport networks like taxis, buses, and train stations. Prominent promotions will also be displayed in major shopping malls and on road signs in high-traffic areas in target markets. These efforts aim to enhance Oman’s visibility and attract more international visitors.
On the media front, the Ministry plans to collaborate with over 50 international media outlets and execute promotional campaigns across major global television channels, including CNN. This wide-reaching media exposure will help shape and spread a compelling image of Oman as a diverse and attractive tourist destination.
The Ministry also announced its participation in over 23 international tourism exhibitions and promotional workshops, further amplifying its presence in the global tourism industry. In addition, Oman is set to cooperate with international airlines, such as the Swiss carrier Edelweiss, along with several Gulf airlines, to organize joint promotional campaigns.
The programme also includes the organisation of 100 introductory trips for representatives of tourism companies and international media outlets. These trips will offer a firsthand experience of Oman’s diverse tourism offerings, showcasing the country’s rich cultural and natural heritage.
The Ministry will continue to leverage digital platforms, including the popular “Discover Oman” social media account, to carry out extensive online promotional campaigns. Collaborations with global promotional websites will further amplify the reach of these efforts, targeting a broader audience.
In addition to these initiatives, the Ministry will host periodic training sessions for tourism company representatives in target markets, ensuring they are well-equipped to promote Oman’s tourism experiences. The program will highlight specialized tourism sectors such as marine tourism, adventure tourism, golf tourism, wedding tourism, and charter trips.
