MUSCAT: One of the key priorities of the 2025 state budget is the construction of 22 new government schools across Oman.
Revealing the details of the budget, His Excellency Sultan Salim Al Habsi, Minister of Education stated that 39% of the spending will be towards the education sector. “One of the most prominent development projects for 2025 is the completion of the construction of 20 new public schools, the introduction of tenders for the construction of 22 schools, the completion of the construction of 9 government hospitals, the expansion of the Muscat highway and the construction of a number of ports and dams,” the Minister said.
To accommodate the increasing number of students entering primary education, the budget also targets the enrollment of over 45,000 students in grade one. “This initiative aims to address the growing demand for educational facilities, ensuring every child has access to quality learning environments,” the Minister added.
