Oman and Bahrain sign MoU to advance exploration and development of valuable stones

MUSCAT : The MoU, which was formally signed today, January 15, outlines key areas of collaboration between the two countries, aiming to promote the sustainable exploration and responsible development of valuable stones, such as pearls and precious metals. The partnership seeks to advance technical expertise, adopt global best practices in analysis systems, and enhance the training of specialized personnel in the sector.

One of the main goals of the agreement is to exchange technical knowledge and related information, particularly in the analysis and hallmarking of precious metals, ensuring that they meet global standards. The two countries will also collaborate on the development of electronic systems to track and authenticate hallmark-exempt precious metals, further ensuring transparency and quality control in the industry.

The MoU also calls for the exchange of research and studies on the development of advanced analysis systems, fostering innovation in the precious stones sector.
