MUSCAT : A series of tourism initiatives, including luxury resorts, heritage centers, and eco-tourism projects, are being implemented across the governorate’s picturesque wilayats.Among the flagship projects is a 5-star resort in Ras Al Amud Square, Khor Al Hablain, Wilayat of Khasab, with over 35% completion achieved. Five villas are fully constructed, and foundations are laid for three more, bringing the total cost to RO 31 million, which also includes a hotel in Dhahr Square, Wilayat of Bukha.
In addition, the Dibba Archaeological Site Visitors Centre is set to begin construction with RO 2.7 million budget. This modern facility will feature a museum showcasing the region’s rich heritage, a souvenir shop, tourist information centers, and other essential visitor services.
Nofal bin Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Kamzari, Assistant Director of the Department of Heritage and Tourism in Musandam Governorate, emphasized that these projects aim to boost the local economy, create job opportunities, and support small and medium enterprises. He highlighted Musandam’s distinct offerings, including its cultural richness, environmental conservation efforts, and unique marine attractions such as Telegraph Island, Salamah Island, and Khor Sham.
Musandam’s growing reputation as a winter getaway is supported by 11 hotel facilities spread across the governorate, offering over 470 rooms in Wilayats of Khasab, Dibba, and Madha. More projects, including a 3-star resort and integrated tourism complexes, are set to be announced soon.
