Muscat: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik has announced a generous grant totaling RO 178 million to support over 100,000 citizens. This high grant coincides with the fifth anniversary of His Majesty’s accession to power and underscores his dedication to ensuring a happy, dignified life for all Omanis.
Under the new grant, several social and economic programs will receive a significant boost to uplift various segments of society. The highlights include:
The government will raise the financial allocations for housing aid in 2025, enabling more citizens to secure decent homes under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning.
Additional funds will be directed to the Authority for developing Small and Medium Enterprises.
His Majesty’s grant will cover remaining amounts for specific loan categories, offering vital relief to individuals and businesses:
Housing loans from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Oman Housing Bank, and the Ministry of Defense for those earning a monthly salary or pension of RO 400 or less.
Housing Bank for those whose services were terminated from the private sector, and whose monthly salary was RO 400 OMR or less.
Loans for projects previously financed by the Al Raffd Fund that have faced difficulties or closure.
Certain troubled and closed projects previously financed through the government loan portfolio at the Development Bank.
To ensure stability for citizens, social and insurance protections will be extended throughout 2025. This includes continuing to disburse social security pensions. Relevant authorities will also study the situation of eligible families under the social protection system and provide an additional pension for retired individuals whose monthly pension is below RO 350.
In a further show of support for social well-being, marriage funds will be set up in every governorate across the Sultanate of Oman. These funds aim to assist and encourage those looking to marry, backed by direct government support and governed by forthcoming regulations.
