Bollywood actor Asif Basra was found hanging at a private home in Himachal Pradesh’s Mcleodganj on November 12, the police have said. They are investigating whether it was death by suicide. He was 53.
According to reports, the actor had a property on lease in Mcleodganj- a place popular among tourists and used to visit the hill station often.
Most recently known for his role in the thriller series Pataal Lok, Mr Basra had appeared in a number of Bollywood films like Black Friday, Parzania, Outsourced, Jab We Met, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai, Kai Po Che, Krrish 3, Ek Villain, Kaalakaandi and Hichki.
He was last seen in season 2 of the web series Hostages, which released earlier this year.
Several celebrities took to social media to mourn the demise of Asif Basra.
Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “What? This is too shocking!! Shot with him just before Lockdown!!! Oh My God!!!”
Hansal Mehta took to Twitter and wrote, “Asif Basra! Can’t be true… This is just very, very sad.”
