Thiruvananthapuram: India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecasted more rains in Kerala till August 11 in wake of a well-marked low- pressure area over northwest Bay of Bengal. On the other hand, an offshore trough has been formed over the stretch between southern Maharashtra and northern Kerala. Similarly, a cyclonic circulation is laying over the east-central Arabian Sea. All these factors make the state prone to more rain.
The state can expect isolated heavy rains with lightning, IMD’s forecast said. The downpour in a day (24-hour stretch) will be likely between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm
