Motorists can enjoy free parking during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holidays in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi.

In the UAE capital Abu Dhabi, the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport on July 28 announced that surface public parking bays will be free of charge starting from July 30 until 7:59 am on August 3.

The ITC has urged the public to adhere to Mawaqif regulations and not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas or block the traffic flow. Motorists have also been asked to adhere to Mawaqif regulations regarding resident parking from 9:00pm to 8:00am to avoid being fined.

In Sharjah, Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazien, director of Public Parking Department at Sharjah Municipality, said that while it will provide free parking on the three days of Eid Al Adha, certain areas will be subject to fees. Motorists will have to pay for parking on Arafat Day, it clarified.

All public parking areas in Dubai, except for multi-level parking terminals, will be free of charge from July 30 to August 2. Parking tariff will be reactivated on August 3, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced.

The RTA has also announced revised timings of its services including customer happiness centres, public buses, metro, tram, and marine transport.
