UAE Citizens Granted 90-Day Visa-Free Stay in Japan Starting June 2025

Dubai: In a significant boost to bilateral relations, Emirati citizens holding ordinary passports can now enjoy visa-free stays in Japan for up to 90 days per visit, an increase from the previous 30-day allowance. The new regulation will take effect from June 1, 2025.

The UAE Embassy in Japan announced the update, highlighting that the extended stay duration is aimed at enhancing opportunities for tourism, trade, cultural exchange, and academic collaboration between the two nations.

This development also reflects the rising global stature of the UAE passport, which is consistently ranked among the world’s most powerful. UAE citizens currently enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to more than 180 countries, facilitating easier international travel and reinforcing the UAE’s strong diplomatic relationships worldwide.

The extension of the visa-free stay is a testament to the enduring partnership between the UAE and Japan, and underscores both nations’ shared commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties and promoting greater mobility for their citizens.
