‘The army has done its duty, and so has diplomacy; Mutual trust and unity will take time

Pune : External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that India-China military withdrawal is a success of diplomatic and military negotiations.
Jaishankar said that mutual trust and unity will take time and clarified that the situation on the border is being closely assessed.
“The reason we are where we are today is because of our determination

to stand firm and make our side clear. The army was there (the Line of Actual Control) to protect the country under extremely alarming conditions. The army did their duty. Diplomacy also played a role.” – said Jayashankar.

Jaishankar also said that since 2020, the situation on the border had worsened. India tried to find a solution. He said that while India and China had agreed on a military withdrawal in some areas after 2020, the main part related to patrolling remained. The military withdrawal began in Depsung and Demchok areas of eastern Ladakh. The troop withdrawal was completed on the 29th. After the withdrawal of troops, patrolling will begin.
