Dubai : If you’ve received a traffic fine in Sharjah, you may be eligible for a significant discount, especially if you settle it early. A new initiative approved by the Sharjah Executive Council allows motorists to receive up to 35% off on traffic fines, depending on how soon the payment is made.
The decision, aimed at encouraging timely payments and easing financial pressure on residents, was approved during the Council’s weekly meeting chaired by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Council.
Discount Structure: Two-Tier System
Under the new framework, motorists can benefit from the following discounts:
- 35% discount if the fine is paid within 60 days of the traffic violation
- 25% discount if the fine is paid within one year, but after 60 days
In addition, the 35% discount also applies to:
- Vehicle impoundment durations
- Impoundment-related fees
- Late payment penalties
Note: These discounts do not apply to serious traffic violations as defined by UAE traffic law.
