SC of India expresses concern over ongoing famers’ stir

The Supreme Court on Wednesday expressed concern over ongoing farmers’ protest and said it will hear all petitions challenging the new farm laws and ongoing agitation on January 11.

SC observed that there has been “absolutely no improvement in the situation” regarding farmers protest. SC said it will take up the petitions challenging farm laws .

Meanwhile the deadlock between Indian government and the farmers continues as the seventh round of talks failed to make any consensus . The farmers group are sticking to their demand for the appeal of repeal of the three new laws, and the government keeps listing out various benefits of the new Acts.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab, Haryana and some other parts of the country have been protesting at several Delhi border points since November 28 demanding revoking the farm laws.

Farmers said that their stir against the farm laws will intensify in the coming days, even as they postponed Wednesday’s proposed tractor march due to bad weather forecast.
