Riyadh : Saudi Arabia has implemented projects worth 40 million dollars for polio eradication projects in developing countries. Projects were implemented by investing money through King Salman Humanitarian Aid in countries like Palestine, Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Pakistan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea.
Saudi Arabia is giving importance to improving the health sector in these regions, developing health institutions and providing life-saving services. The country contributed $57.67 million to polio eradication through its partnership with UNICEF, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization.
Also polio and measles eradication projects have been implemented in many countries with a total investment of 15 million dollars. In 2016, KSRelief delivered 15,000 doses of meningitis vaccines and 15,000 doses of polio vaccines to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
