Over RO 6,000 refunded to consumer in Oman’s North Batinah for service failure

MUSCAT : The CPA’s Directorate General in North Al Batinah intervened after a consumer filed a complaint against a company specialising in the customisation and installation of doors, windows, and aluminium structures. The consumer had contracted the company to install windows at his home for a total cost of RO 6,085.

According to the complaint, the company failed to deliver and install the windows within the agreed-upon timeframe. The company was also unresponsive to the consumer’s repeated inquiries and requests for updates.

This prompted the consumer to file a complaint with the CPA, which initiated mediation efforts, leading to an amicable settlement between the two parties.

The settlement included termination of the contract and the reimbursement of the full amount through a series of checks issued to the complainant.

The Consumer Protection Authority urges all service providers to comply with the applicable consumer protection laws and fulfil their contractual obligations to safeguard consumer rights when providing goods or services.
