Muscat: Eng. Saeed bin Ali Al-Abri, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Al Batinah Governorate Branch of OCCI and head of the delegation, emphasized the visit’s goal of promoting investment opportunities in North Al Batinah Governorate. “The delegation seeks during the visit to find promising investment opportunities with the private sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to build bridges of cooperation between the two sides, which would increase the volume of exports between the two countries,” he said in an official statement to the Oman News Agency.
The delegation, comprising business owners and representatives from small and medium enterprises, seeks to capitalize on the strategic advantages of the Rub Al Khali port. The port, which serves as a direct link between Oman and Saudi Arabia, facilitated imports worth over RO 159.6 million by June 2024, with a total weight exceeding 324 million kilograms.
Data from the National Centre for Statistics and Information shows that trade exchange between Oman and Saudi Arabia reached RO 1.014 billion by June 2024. Omani mineral products topped exports to the kingdom at RO 160.5 million, followed by metal products at RO 95 million and machinery and electrical equipment at RO 33.5 million.
Eng. Al-Abri added that the visit aligns with the North Al Batinah branch’s strategic plan to strengthen economic relations with Saudi Arabia, ensuring long-term growth and collaboration. The delegation’s agenda will include discussions with Saudi counterparts, highlighting shared interests in key sectors and exploring avenues for future investments.
