Oman’s new UN Ambassador presents credentials, emphasizes peace and cooperation

NEW YORK: During the presentation, His Excellency Ambassador Al Kathiri conveyed the heartfelt greetings of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to His Excellency António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations.

Highlighting Oman’s commitment to global peace and cooperation, His Excellency Ambassador Al Kathiri lauded the United Nations’ efforts in fostering international peace, security, and sustainable development. He underscored the Sultanate’s readiness to collaborate closely with the UN on initiatives addressing regional and international challenges.

In response, Secretary-General Guterres expressed profound appreciation for the wisdom and leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. He praised Oman’s consistent advocacy for dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes, recognizing the nation’s unwavering support for global peace and stability.
