Oman’s heatwave intensifies as temperatures near 45°C

Muscat: According to the Civil Aviation Authority’s latest readings, Um Zamaim recorded the highest temperature in the Sultanate at a blistering 44.1°C. Other regions followed closely behind, with Yaaloni reaching 43.7°C, Muqshin at 43.4°C, and Sur at 43.2°C.

Several areas across Oman are now consistently crossing the 40°C threshold. Haima reported 42.8°C, while Fahud and Al Awabi registered 42.7°C and 42.4°C respectively. Even coastal and industrial hubs like Sohar (41.9°C) and Marmul (41.8°C) are feeling the brunt of the heat.
