Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee strengthens ties with key agreements

Muscat: The ninth Omani-Iraqi Joint Committee meeting was held today in Baghdad, marking a significant step forward in bilateral cooperation between the two nations. The meeting, led by His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi, Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Fuad Hussein, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, underscored their shared commitment to regional stability and prosperity.
In his address, His Excellency Al Busaidi emphasized that the long-standing relationship between Oman and Iraq is based on mutual respect, shared visions, and a deep-rooted partnership. He highlighted the importance of advancing joint efforts in economic, commercial, cultural, tourism, and scientific fields to benefit both nations and the wider region.
The Minister also praised Iraq’s vital role in addressing key Arab and regional issues, particularly its stance on the Palestinian cause, and stressed the importance of dialogue and cooperation to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
His Excellency Dr. Fuad Hussein reciprocated by acknowledging Oman’s pivotal role in supporting regional security and its contributions to the Arab world.
