MUSCAT : The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources is undertaking a series of key dam maintenance projects in Al Buraimi Governorate, with a total investment of over RO 686,000. These projects aim to enhance water resources, improve groundwater storage, and ensure sustainable water supplies for agriculture in the region.
Engineer Nasser bin Ali Al Marshoudi, Director General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Buraimi, provided an update on the ongoing works. The Mahdha Dam, with a maintenance cost of RO 407,000, has reached 20% completion, while the Masilik Dam’s maintenance is underway at a cost of RO 115,000, also at a 20% completion rate. The Masah Dam is seeing progress with a 30% completion rate at a cost of RO 52,000, while the Haywan Dam project has been allocated RO 50,000, with 28% of the work completed. Additionally, maintenance at Abu Qala Dam is nearing completion, with 86% of the work done at a cost of RO 8,000. The Al Juwaif Dam project is also in progress with an RO 51,000 investment.
