Oman and Nepal sign MoU to boost tourism cooperation

MUSCAT : The agreement aims to foster stronger bilateral ties and expand tourism opportunities between the two countries.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Salem bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, and Her Excellency Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

Under the agreement, both countries will work together to promote tourism investments, hotel development, and enhance expertise in hotel management. The MoU seeks to stimulate mutual tourism, facilitate direct communication between travel agencies and tourism companies, and encourage participation in international tourism exhibitions, seminars, conferences, and workshops.

The memorandum also emphasizes enhancing cooperation between the two sides within the framework of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and other international tourism organizations. Additionally, the two countries will collaborate on joint programs, exchange vocational training information, tourism statistics, promotional materials, and technical expertise in training, research, and tourism information.
