Oman and Egypt strengthen trade and investment ties

Muscat: Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef, Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion, met today with Dr. Badr Abdel Aati, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the ministry’s headquarters to explore new avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment.

The meeting emphasized the importance of activating the Omani-Egyptian Businessmen Council as a vital platform for fostering economic relations between the two nations. Discussions centered on diversifying traded products to boost trade exchange and unlocking broader opportunities for various economic sectors.

Key topics included enhancing joint investments and encouraging private sector institutions in Oman and Egypt to explore promising investment opportunities. The two sides also highlighted the significance of strengthening logistics integration, including developing sea lanes between the two countries and offering necessary incentives and facilities.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Saleh bin Saeed Masn, Undersecretary of the Ministry for Commerce and Industry, Khaled Mohammed Abdel Halim Rady, Ambassador of Egypt to Oman, and several officials from both nations.
