Meet EVA, India’s first solar-powered car and it costs only Dh14,000

Dubai: Pune-based Vayve Mobility has launched India’s first-ever solar-powered electric vehicle (EV), the Eva, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 in New Delhi recently.

Priced from ₹3.25 lakh (Dh14,000), the Eva boasts a sunroof that can generate approximately 1 kWh of energy daily under average Indian conditions. Bookings are now open with a token amount of ₹5,000, and deliveries are expected to commence later in 2026.
Vayve Mobility aims to make car ownership more accessible in India, with a specific focus on Targeting urban mobility, says the company. Eva, a compact and agile city car, can seat two adults (including the driver) and a child, and is designed to navigate urban traffic with ease with its narrow body.

Eva is available in three variants: Nova, Stella, and Vega. All the variants offer battery pack options ranging from 9 kWh to 18 kWh, promising a range of 125-250 kilometres on a full charge. All variants feature air conditioning and come with a 3-year/80,000 km warranty for the vehicle and a 5-year battery warranty.

The Nova variant includes a fast charging feature, enabling it to charge from 10% to 70% using a DC charger. The company claims a real-world range of up to 250 kilometres with moderate AC usage, with the solar panel contributing an additional 10-12 kilometres of range under suitable conditions. This means up to 3,000 km sun-powered driving per year, claims the company.

In addition to the Eva, Vayve Mobility also launched the CT5, an electric taxi designed for five passengers.

Built on a monocoque chassis, the Eva incorporates features like over-the-air (OTA) updates, a vehicle diagnostics system, and smartphone connectivity, making it a practical and technologically advanced option for urban commuters.
