The Madras High Court has ordered theatres to operate with 50 percent occupancy till January 11 in Tamil Nadu. The court also asked the state government to respond regarding the theatre occupancy by January 11. Further the court said that if the government doesn’t respond, it might compel the court to issue an order.
Earlier the government issued an order stating that theatres in Tamil Nadu can operate with 100 percent occupancy. The decision received flak from the general public.
Recently, the Ministry of Home Affairs reminded the Tamil Nadu government stating that they cannot dilute the guidelines regarding theatre occupancy regarding theatre occupancy.
Vijay’s Master is all set to hit the theatres on January 13, while Simbu’s Eeswaran will release on January 14.
Both actors requested the government to allow 100 per cent occupancy in theatres as it will help in reviving the theatre business and Tamil film industry.
