Kuwait Enforces Lifetime Ban and Deportation for Residency Visa Applicants Failing HIV Test

Kuwait City : The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health has announced that foreign nationals who test positive for HIV during mandatory medical screening for residency visa stamping will face a lifetime ban from the country and will be deported immediately.

According to the new directive, individuals receiving unclear or inconclusive results will be subjected to two additional antibody tests. If they fail these follow-up tests as well, deportation will proceed without exception.

This rule applies not only to new expatriates arriving on employment visas but also to current residents seeking visa renewals. The Ministry emphasized that these measures are part of efforts to protect public health and ensure the safety of the community.

As per existing regulations, medical screening must be conducted in the applicant’s home country before arrival. However, upon arrival in Kuwait, a second round of medical testing is mandatory as part of the residency approval process.

These stricter protocols reflect Kuwait’s intensified commitment to safeguarding public health through rigorous medical screening for all foreign residents.
