Kiara Advani headlines Ashuthosh Gowarikar’s Lijjat Papad

Kiara Advani to star in the film based on the popular FMCG chain- Lijjat Papad. The movie is titled as Karram Kurram and will be produced Ashuthosh Gowariker.

‘Karram Kurram’ will be produced under the banner of Ashuthosh Gowariker Production. Glenn Baretto and Ankush Mohla who have assisted Ashuthosh in the past will be helming the movie.

Bringing to screen the tale of women empowerment, Karram Kurram narrates the story of a woman who started a women’s co-operative organization to bring together six other housewives to earn for their households.

The film, headlined by Kiara Advani marks the inception and rise of an FMCG conglomerate, establishing a monopoly in the commercial pappad market , under the women’s cooperative group.

The Mahila Griha Udyog organization has supported the households of thousands of women for over six decades now. The organisation, which is headquartered in Mumbai, has 81 branches and 27 divisions across the country. It was founded in 1959 by seven women in Girgaum with a seed capital of Rs 80. In 2018, it reportedly had an annual turnover of Rs 800 crore plus and provides employment to 43,000 women across the country.

Currently the Kiara Advani is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Indoo Ki Jawani opposite Aditya Seal. Helmed by Bengali filmmaker Abir Sengupta, the female-centric film is touted to be a modern age love story based on the current trend of dating through online. The film will depict the story of Indoo Gupta, a feisty girl from Ghaziabad, whose left and right swipes with dating app results in hilarious chaos.

‘Indoo Ki Jawani’ is being bankrolled by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani with Nikkhil Advani and co-produced by Niranjan Iyengar and Ryan Stephen. It will hit the screens on 11 December 2020.

Kiara is currently shooting for ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ that also stars Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor.
