Kerala reports second case of Monkeypox, Kannur man hospitalized

Health officials said that patient’s condition is normal, and those who came in contact with the person are under observation.

Kannur: In a major concern for the Kerala health department, monkeypox was confirmed in a patient from Kannur on Monday. This is the second case reported in the state so far this month. The 31-year-old returnee from abroad is undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Govt. Medical College. Health officials said that patient’s condition is normal, and those who came in contact with the person are under observation.
He reached Kannur from Dubai on July 13. Earlier, a patient with monkeypox had arrived in Kerala from the UAE and tested positive for the viral disease in Kollam.
